Our Story
Though not exactly a real University, Gingerbread University was created by a real college professor and inventor/entrepreneur Frederick H. Terry Sr. The idea for a Gingerbread services company came in the 1980's when Professor Terry created a final exam project for his hospitality students at Nassau Community College in New York. The project, the first of it's kind in the area received substantial publicity from the media and inspired Professor Terry to continue to develop student-run gingerbread decorating workshops for the community.

A North Fork, Long Island Native, upon retirement Terry created Gingerbread University - A place where families and individuals could participate in a traditional experience while enjoying the sweet, spicy, aroma of Gingerbread. Professor Terry became known as "Gingerbread Fred" and has focused the “coursework” on “hands-on” participation emphasizing old fashioned family fun, with lots of creative twists including sugar cookie and chocolate decorating, a fudge and cookie factory and a complete candy store It is a truly "One of a kind" experience not to be missed!
